ACIS was created in 2009, and it’s formed by thirty-three researchers from eighteen faculties from twelve different universities (16 from Philology, 13 from Fine Arts and 4 from other specialties). Its aim is to analyze myths and the mythologizing and demystification processes in literature and contemporary arts, for which it organizes monthly investigation seminars, biannual international congresses about myth criticism, biannual artistic creation contests, and mythology-themed strolls. It also gathers dozens of written volumes around this specialty.
